We take our obligation to guard the residents of San Diego from bed bugs very seriously. Recently, we have been managing the increase in San Diego bed bug infestations. We aren’t certain as to why their number in San Diego is increasing, but it’s likely caused by more people purchasing used furniture from Craigslist and accidentally bringing them home
What Do Bed Bugs Do?
We simply cannot think of anyone who doesn’t mind bed bugs invading their home. They will make their presence known in a manner that causes it to be impossible to ignore them. They prey on humans when they’re sleeping and use a piece of their mouth, called a stylet, to pierce the skin of humans. It uses this stylet, which has small teeth, to saw through the tissue to find blood vessels. They will then suck the blood for five to 10 minutes before returning to its hiding place. The bed bug will concurrently inject saliva into the body of the human it is feeding on. This saliva can create swelling and cause extreme itching.
It’s not unusual to not see the bed bugs themselves. They will hide in small crevices, like the seams of your mattress, and only emerge at night. Typically, people don’t know they have been infected until they have been attacked during sleep. Also, if you see blood or fecal spots on your bedsheets, it’s best to call us quickly. When you’ve got this kind of problem you shouldn’t even contemplate sleeping in your house.
Bed Bugs Bite
Bedbugs can bite any part of your body. Usually they bite the areas of our skin that are exposed while we sleep, such as the face, arms, neck, and hands. Their bites may develop into fluid-filled blisters. bedbug bites are rarely dangerous, but can be very itchy. Sometimes, they become infected and can cause an allergic reaction.
If they bite your skin, you won’t feel it right away because they excrete a tiny amount of anesthetic before feeding on people.
The bitten part of your skin will noticeably become red and swollen. Their bite is itchy and can cause a burning sensation. Multiple bites may appear in a line or cluster in a small area of your body. And scratching bedbug bites can cause them to bleed and can cause infection.
